Approximate pixel sizes at 300 DPI
A4
2480 x 3508 px is the common print-ready raster target.
Letter
2550 x 3300 px works well for print-oriented image-to-PDF workflows.
Legal
2550 x 4200 px gives a strong baseline for scanned forms.
If your source images are much smaller than the target pixel size, enlarging them will not create real print quality. It only stretches the existing pixels.
How to choose the right size
- Use A4 or Letter for general documents and reports.
- Use Legal when you need longer vertical space for contracts and forms.
- Use the same size across all pages to avoid awkward mixed-page PDFs.
- When converting photos, match the PDF page size to the final viewing or print purpose, not just the image dimensions.
