Binary / Text Converter

Convert any text to its binary (0s & 1s) representation and decode binary back to readable text. Uses UTF-8 encoding so multi-byte characters (CJK, emoji, etc.) are handled correctly. Everything runs in your browser.

💡
Binary / Text represents each character as a sequence of 8-bit groups using UTF-8 encoding. ASCII characters (A–Z, 0-9, etc.) are 1 byte (e.g. A →01000001). Extended Latin characters like é are 2 bytes. Chinese / Japanese / Korean characters and most emoji are 3— bytes each. The delimiter controls how bytes are separated: Space (most readable), None (compact stream), or New Line (one byte per line). All processing uses the browser's built-in TextEncoder / TextDecoder —nothing leaves your device.

What is Binary to Text Converter?

This tool converts plain text into binary byte sequences and converts binary input back into text. It is useful for learning character encoding basics, debugging byte-level data, and checking ASCII-oriented binary strings.

How to Use Binary to Text Converter

  1. Paste text when you want to see its binary byte representation.
  2. Paste binary when you want to decode it back to text.
  3. Choose spacing or delimiter preferences if the tool provides them.
  4. Copy the converted result for teaching, debugging, or documentation.

Common Use Cases
  • Translate ASCII text into binary for teaching or debugging
  • Decode binary byte groups copied from documentation or packet dumps
  • Understand how characters map to bits and bytes
  • Verify delimiter handling for binary strings with or without spaces
Why Use This Tool
  • Good for teaching bytes, bits, ASCII, and simple encoding concepts.
  • Useful when inspecting binary snippets in docs, logs, or tutorials.
  • Lets you switch between text and binary without leaving the browser.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it support Unicode characters?

Basic ASCII (0-927) is fully supported. Extended UTF-8 characters are encoded as multi-byte binary sequences.

Why are there spaces between groups?

Spaces separate bytes for readability —the converter accepts binary with or without spaces.
